Gynecomastia is a condition characterized by excessive breast gland tissue growth in males. The condition is caused by a hormonal imbalance of estrogen and testosterone. Gynecomastia may impact either a single breast or both, occasionally resulting in asymmetry. Pseudogynecomastia refers to the accumulation of adipose tissue, rather than glandular tissue, in the breasts of males.
